Lessons and Life in Avenue Q

In Avenue Q, a motley crew of humans and some furry puppets struggle to find jobs, make friends, have dates, and search for their ever-elusive purpose in life. Due to full puppet nudity, parental discretion is advised. It is a show with many messages that have resounded with the cast.
Asked what their favorite lines are from the shows and what they have learned from it, the cast had this to say:

Rachel Alejandro (as Kate Monster/Lucy The Slut)

Line: You gotta go after the things you want while you’re still in your prime...

Lesson Learned: I have always been the kind of person with big dreams with so many people and places in the world I still want to learn about and experience. I constantly feel like my life is too short for me to do all the things I’ve always wanted to do.

Every time I sing it, I remind myself not to waste a minute of my youth and go for the things I want while I still can.

Calvin Millado (Brian)

Line: Everything in life is only for now.

Lesson Learned: This line struck me most as the only constant thing in life is change and we shouldn’t be afraid of it. We should embrace life’s unexpected surprises…Like joining the cast of Avenue Q!

Joel Trinidad (Trekkie Monster/Nicky/Bad Idea Bear)

Line: ...and I found someone very special!

Lesson Learned: I didn’t actually learn anything from this particular line, but it did change my life. Because I myself did find someone very special. Yes, I’m a newlywed!

Frenchie Dy (Christmas Eve)

Line: Everything in life is only for now.

Lesson Learned: We can never tell how long our life will be, so let’s appreciate, be contented with and be thankful for all the blessings the Lord has given us.

Aiza Seguerra (Gary Coleman)

Line: If life gets you down, don’t sit on your ass and let it pass you by.

Lesson Learned: We all have our “not so good” moments pero if you choose not to do anything at maglulungkot lungkutan ka nalang and blame everybody for what’s happening to you, walang mangyayari sa iyo. Every day is an opportunity to change your life.

Felix Rivera (Princeton/Rod)

Line: Everything in life is only for now.

Lesson Learned: Unexpected good things and blessings can come anytime (like getting to do Avenue Q again), and though we bask in these blessings, we should not waste time in taking advantage of them and growing from them (and being thankful for them), because they will only be “for now”. But what we can gain from these momentary blessings will last forever.

In his search for a place to live in New York city, armed with only a tiny bank account and a desperate effort to find his purpose in this world, Princeton ends up in the only neighborhood he can afford --- Avenue Q.Not only does he find a new roommate, but he befriends a bunch of irreverent characters whose lives suck: a smart, pretty and sweet schoolteacher who can't find a boyfriend; a jobless, 30-something wannabe comedian who's married to a clientless therapist; a furry neighbor who feasts on shady internet sites all day; a happy-go-lucky slacker who bunks with a well-starched but secretly flamboyant investment banker; and a building administrator who happens to be the washed-out 80's TV star Gary Coleman.

Avenue Q is the Tony Award-winning story that reminds us that to get from point A to point B, we simply must weave through the hodgepodge called life (and steer clear of the Bad Idea Bears!)

“I can’t wait for the return of Avenue Q. I just love the characters and the songs. The way those puppets come alive is just magical,” says Girlie Rodis whose talent Rachel Alejandro plays the dual role of Lucy the Slut/Kate Monster. Rachel earned rave reviews and an Aliw Award for her performance.

“... I love seeing the way people come out of the theater with big smiles on their faces. It is really one of the funniest shows ever,” Rachel says.

Avenue Q has had four sold out runs (including an extended run in Singapore’s Esplanade Theatre). “We are very excited to bring back Avenue Q to Manila. It is a show that brings so much joy and happiness to perform each night and we are so glad audiences are still craving for more,” says Bobby.

SEAT RESERVATION & TICKET PAYMENT

1. All ticket reservations can only be made via e-mail or phone as published on this website. Reservations are strictly done on a first-come-first-served basis.

2. A tab to the Seat Plan is available on this website showing available seats. While the Seat Plan is updated frequently, it may not always reflect actual availability of seats in real time.

3. All ticket reservations are valid for two (2) banking days following our confirmation e-mail or SMS confirming your reservation. Failure to deliver payment within the 2-day period will result in the forfeiture of your reservation.

MODE OF PAYMENT
1. CASH ON DELIVERY (COD)
There is a designated time and location for meet-ups within Makati City only. Should you decide to purchase extra tickets on the spot, we will issue an acknowledgment receipt as proof of purchase in the event that the extra tickets are not readily available.

2. BANK DEPOSIT
All bank information will be enclosed in the confirmation e-mail. Kindly e-mail us a scanned image of the deposit slip as soon as possible for verification purposes. Please keep your deposit slip up to the moment you receive your tickets.
